Indian film actress Chitrangada Singh was born on March 28th, 1982 in Meerut, India.
In a recent article at The Telegraph, Chitrangada was listed as one of the "irresistible desi femme fatales" in Indian cinema.
Like a lot of Bollywood actresses, she started out as a model, then moved to music videos.
She made her big screen debut in the Bollywood film, Hazaaron Khwaishein Aisi, directed by Sudhir Mishra.
Interestingly, the film was made in 2003, but was released in 2005.
Although the film didn't do well at the box office, the critics called it "a masterpiece and one of the best movies of the year".
Chitrangada released another film, Kal: Yesterday and Tomorrow in 2005, then took a break from acting.
In 2008 she came back in the film Sorry Bhai!, with Shabana Azmi, Boman Irani, Sanjay Suri and Sharman Joshi.
For 2010, she has two upcoming movies so far.....
Basra with Abhay Deol, Nikhil Dwivedi,Shahana Goswami and Soniya Mehra, a thriller that seems to lean towards martial arts action, and Dhruv, directed by Sudhir Mishra.
Kareena Kapoor is rumored to appear in Dhruv.
Though Chitrangada has had a short career, she has already won the 2006 Bollywood Movie Award for Best Female Debut, and been nominated for the 2005 Zee Cine Award for Most Promising Debut - Female, the 2005 Apsara Award for Best Actress and the 2006 Screen Award for Most Promising Newcomer - Female .
